Minneapolis celebrates 150 years

In 1858 the people of Minneapolis voted to become a town, with our first Town Council meeting July 20, 1858. The City of Minneapolis will officially celebrate its 150th year July 18-27, in partnership with the Aquatennial.

In addition, there will be activities around the City throughout the year with many other partnering organizations including the Hennepin History Museum, Meet Minneapolis, and Hennepin County Library. As events and activities are finalized they will be posted on our calendar page
