The City of Minneapolis Planning Commission is charged with long-range planning for the city and is responsible for advising the City Council on matters of development, zoning, and capital improvements. It is a citizen's committee that works with Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) on the development of plans and the review of development applications.

Mondays at 4:30 p.m. on the weeks of regularly scheduled City Council meetings.
10 members consisting of mayoral appointments and representatives from the School Board, Park Board, Hennepin County, and the City Council.
The commission uses the City's open appointment process.
Term of Appointment
$50.00 per meeting, not to exceed 4 meetings a month
Yes there is a residency requirement. Members must live in Minneapolis.
