Mississippi Watershed Management Organization
|
Purpose |
Watershed management organizations (WMOs) are special purpose local units of government whose boundaries follow those of a natural watershed (an area in which all water drains to one point). The WMOs are named after the primary lake or river within the watershed. Watershed management allows for consideration of all the factors that contribute to the condition of a given stream or lake, and provides the opportunity for all people within the watershed to work together. |
