34th Ave S & 43rd St E Resurfacing
This is a paving resurfacing project. Resurfacing projects use a mill and overlay process. This process will consist of removing a portion of the existing asphalt pavement surface and placing a new surface over the entire street. The purpose of the resurfacing program is to extend the life of a roadway by approximately 10 years. Without this program, streets in the in the program would not see surface improvements for many years. 43rd St E was originally paved in 1988. 34th Ave S was originally paved in 1988.
The project is located in south Minneapolis. 43rd St E from alley east of 33rd Ave S to 34th Ave S and 34th Ave S from 42nd St E to 44th St E.
Construction Start Date:
Replacement of concrete structures has been completed.
Bituminous Mill and Overlay is scheduled to start August 19.
Duration of Construction:
Coordinated road closure. Please note that street parking will be impacted and short term intermittent access restrictions may occur. When construction work will be done on a particular street in the project area, the street will be posted NO PARKING prior to work on that particular street.

Prepayment is made to the Minneapolis Finance Department. Pay statements are sent only by request and the taxpayer is solely responsible for obtaining said statement. Full prepayments may be accepted only through December 31st, 2015 without interest. Partial prepayments are not provided for. No further notice of prepayment will be published. August 21, 2015: Project is complete.
May 19, 2015: Most of the concrete work is complete on this project and milling and paving should be begin by the end of June or early July.
