Project Details

Project Type:

The project will include full removal of the existing street, subgrade correction, new pavement, curb and gutter, driveways, bike trail, sidewalk as needed, streetscape elements as needed, and utility work as needed. The reconstruction will impact local access, parking and pedestrian paths.

Project Limits:
The project is located in northeast Minneapolis. The limits of 18th Avenue NE are from Monroe Street NE to Johnson St NE.

Construction Start Date:
Construction began in June 2017.

Duration of Construction: 
The majority of work was completed in 2017. The contractor will continue work on the remaining items beginning in May 2018. These items include completing the signal work at Monroe Street Northeast and Johnson Street Northeast, raising the manholes to the final surface elevation, completing the sidewalks and driveways, and the installation of the shared-use trail on the south side.

Traffic Impact:
To be determined; however, portions of 18th Avenue Northeast between Monroe Street Northeast and Johnson Street Northeast will be closed to through-traffic.
