Residential Resurfacing
This is a residential paving resurfacing project. Resurfacing projects use a mill and overlay process. This process will consist of removing a portion of the existing asphalt pavement surface and placing a new surface over the entire street. The purpose of the resurfacing program is to extend the life of a roadway by approximately 10 years. Without this program, streets in the in the program would not see surface improvements for many years.
Project Limits:
The Linden Hills Resurfacing Project is located in southwest Minneapolis between Minikahda Golf Club and 44th St W, and between France Ave and Queen Ave S. The Linden Hills area was originally paved 44 years ago in 1968. This project does not include
Construction Start Date:
Construction began on July 5th. Resurfacing is being scheduled around private utility upgrades. As the upgrades are completed, resurfacing will be scheduled.
Length of Construction:
The resurfacing work in Linden Hills will follow upgrading work by private utilities.
Traffic Impact:
The work will be performed during full or partial road closures this summer or fall. Please note that street parking will be impacted and short term intermittent access restrictions may occur. When construction work will be done on a particular street in the project area, the street will be posted NO PARKING prior to work on that particular street.
Pre-payment Information:
Prepayment is made to the Minneapolis Finance Department. Pay statements are sent only by request and the taxpayer is solely responsible for obtaining said statement. Full prepayments may be accepted only through December 31, 2012 without interest. Partial prepayments are not provided for. No further notice of prepayment will be published. October 4: Resurfacing is continuing on the project as utility work is completed.
