40th Street E-W Residential Resurfacing
This is a paving resurfacing project. Resurfacing projects use a mill and overlay process. This process will consist of removing a portion of the existing asphalt pavement surface and placing a new surface over the entire street. The purpose of the resurfacing program is to extend the life of a roadway by approximately 10 years. Without this program, streets in the in the program would not see surface improvements for many years.
This project was originally paved in 1958 and sealcoated in 1998.
The 40th Street project is located in south Minneapolis from Lyndale Ave S to Stevens Ave.
Construction Start Date:
Resurfacing work from Lyndale Ave S to Grand Ave S is scheduled to begin on August 27th.
Duration of Construction:
The portion of the project from Grand Ave S to Stevens Ave is complete. The remaining portion of the project, from Lyndale Ave S to Grand Ave S, should take about three days.
