This project involves the reconstruction of W 29th St. A Shared Use Street concept (woonerf) is being pursued to improve the pedestrian environment and to better meet the needs of the community.
Lyndale Ave - Bryant Ave, Freemont Ave S - Emerson Ave S, and Dupont Ave - Bryant Ave S
Construction Start Date:
Lyndale Ave - Bryant Ave has been completed in the 2016 construction season.
Freemont Ave S - Emerson Ave S and Dupont Ave - Bryant Ave S are scheduled for 2021
Duration of Construction:
There will be substantial completion in one construction season. Tree planting and sodding will take place in 2017.
Access to existing buildings will be maintained.
Public meetings have been held and the community engagement process has concluded.

October 31, 2016: The project is substantially complete and open to the public. Lighting will be added this winter with trees and sodding to be placed in Spring 2017. A grand opening will be held once the project is complete. Public art will also be installed in Spring 2017.
2015: Preliminary design concepts have recently been developed for public comment. The project final design will be completed in 2015 after the City Council/Mayor approves the draft concept. Project construction is expected to begin in 2016.
