Public financial assistance application -this application can be used to apply for tax increment financing or tax abatement assistance for development projects. Fees may apply as indicated in the Public Financial Assistance Fee Policy

Business Development Services staff offers businesses and commercial developers assistance with finding buildings and sites for development within the City, as well as with accessing capital for expansion and development and obtaining grants for cleaning environmentally-contaminated sites.

Great Streets Resources

In 2007, the Minneapolis City Council approved the “Great Streets” Neighborhood Business District program, a coordinated effort to help businesses develop and succeed along commercial corridors and at commercial nodes throughout the city. City resources are available for business loans, real estate development gap financing and business district assistance such as façade improvement programs, market studies and retail recruitment efforts.
