Agendas & Schedules for City Council, Boards and Commissions
CPED regularly presents reports and recommendations to the Minneapolis City Council and to a number of official City advisory boards and commissions. CPED also reports to the Board of Commissioners and Operating Committee of the Minneapolis Community Development Agency (MCDA) on matters that remain legally linked to the MCDA, a formerly independent agency, the staffing functions of which were integrated into CPED in 2003.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission is a citizen committee that advises the City Council regarding long-range planning and makes decisions regarding various land use applications. Schedule & Agendas
Zoning Board of Adjustment
The Zoning Board of Adjustment is a citizen committee the makes decisions related to applications for variances from the Zoning Code. Schedule & Agendas
Heritage Preservation Commission
The Heritage Preservation Commission is a citizen committee that advises the City Council regarding preserving historical districts and buildings, and reviews modifications for contemporary uses. Schedule & Agendas
Minneapolis Arts Commission

Workforce Council
The Minneapolis Workforce Council is a citizen committee that oversees City of Minneapolis employment and training programs and includes three committees: Dislocated Workers, Adult Programs and Youth Council, and Welfare to Work. Schedule & Agendas
City Council Standing Committees
All City departments report to the City Council through its standing committees. Committee recommendations are then forwarded to the full City Council for consideration. CPED frequently reports to the following standing committees of the Council:
Community Development Committee (CD)
The Community Development Committee considers matters relating to housing and economic development, including proposals for housing, commercial and industrial projects and how they will be financed. Schedule, Agendas & Members

The Regulatory, Energy and Environment Committee considers matters relating to public health and social service programs including the Minneapolis Employment & Training Program (METP). Schedule, Agendas & Members
Ways & Means / Budget Committee (W&M)
The Ways & Means / Budget Committee determines the annual budget appropriations for City departments, considers issuance of bonds recommended by the Community Development Committee and approves Empowerment Zone Governance Board Recommendations. Schedule, Agendas & Members
Zoning and Planning Committe (Z&P)
The Zoning and Planning Committee considers amendments to the Minneapolis Zoning Code, applications for rezoning and street and alley vacations, and appeals from the City Planning Commission and Board of Adjustments. Schedule, Agendas & Members
