Civilian Police Review Authority

The Minneapolis Civilian Police Review Authority investigates and makes determinations regarding complaints brought against any Minneapolis Police Officer. If you feel that you or someone else has been treated unfairly or improperly, a complaint can be made with our office.

To file a complaint, you must have personal knowledge of the misconduct, either as a victim or a witness. The complaint must concern misconduct of members of the Minneapolis Police Department in their work as police officers.

Complaints include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Use of excessive force
  • Inappropriate language or attitude
  • Harassment
  • Discrimination in the provision of police services
  • Failure to provide adequate or timely police protection
  • Retaliation for filing a complaint with the review authority
