Status: This project is in the early planning stages.

This proposed multi-purpose municipal operations campus will facilitate a variety of large scale storage and maintenance needs. The main building will be comprised shop space, service bays, storage areas and staff offices.

The Selection Panel chose Minneapolis Artist Randy Walker to create public artwork for the site. Walker is best known locally for his work titled Return Journey, more commonly known as the Bracket Rocket, but has work all over the country from San Francisco to Greensboro, North Carolina.

With guidance from a Steering Committee of local individuals, Walker will be engaging with community members and future tenants of the site to learn more about the surrounding neighborhoods - past, present and future. To join the Steering Committee, please email Kirstin Wiegmann.

The goals of the public art project are:

The final location and design of the artwork is yet to be defined. Public artworks can be integrated into the façade of the building, located in the expansive greenspace along the western edge, and or be a gateway to Northeast Minneapolis.
