Seen on da Streets

Seen on da Streets is a community effort to reduce sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and teen pregnancies in Minneapolis. The project began in October 2003.

- We’re pleased to announce that Seen on da’ Streets has been recognized by the National Association of City and County Health Officials as a 2007 Promising Practice for its collaboration, innovation, and responsiveness, as well as evidence that the practice improves health outcomes. Thanks to our teams at Fremont Clinic and Teen Age Medical Service for their contributions to this effort!
- Seen on da Streets received the Minnesota Organization on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Parenting (MOAPPP) 2007 Program of the Year Award at the awards reception during MOAPPP’s Annual Conference on May 3, 2007. The program was recognized for its innovative approach to providing services to young men using outreach workers from the communities they serve.
- Seen on da Streets received a $12,500 grant from the Community Capitol Alliance to add outreach services to young Latino men. Additional outreach workers will be hired this summer to help adapt the program activities to at-risk Latino males in Minneapolis. The outreach workers will be employees of Fremont Clinic, but will also operate in cooperation with Southside project staff employed at Teen Age Medical Service.
