Take the Minneapolis Energy Challenge

The ability to secure clean, affordable and renewable energy is one of the greatest challenges facing our generation. If we are to meet this challenge, protect our environment from irreparable harm and preserve our four seasons, we must reduce our consumption of fossil fuels. Using electricity from coal plants and driving our cars are two of the largest sources of carbon dioxide, the major cause of the greenhouse effect and global climate change.

As we work toward developing clean, affordable and renewable energy, we must use energy wisely; conserving resources and supporting renewable energy in our community can help foster a sustainable economy and reduce the impacts of global warming and climate change. Often, the same behaviors that reduce climate impacts, such as improving energy efficiency, also save money.
