Minneapolis Urban Forestry Project
Through the Urban Forestry Project, Minneapolis businesses and non-profit organizations are eligible to have trees planted on their properties. Planting trees on commercial properties is essential for reducing energy costs, better managing storm water, reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide, and increasing livability in our city.
Requests for 2018 spring and fall plantings are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Trees cost $30 each.
The project provides a consultation with a landscaper about the best trees for your property.
Trees are professionally planted, mulched, and include watering bags to assist you in caring for the trees.
If you are interested, fill out the Tree Survey.
To qualify, businesses or non-profits must:
- Have enough green space to accommodate a tree or trees.
- Maintain and water the trees (critical for the first three years).
Should you require a reasonable accommodation in order to fully participate, or information in an alternative format, please contact 612-673-2301.
