Green Business Matching Grant Program

The City of Minneapolis values both a strong business community and a cleaner environment. The Green Business Matching Grant Program acts on this value by investing in businesses who reduce pollution in Minneapolis creating a healthier place to live, work, and play.

The deadline for all applications is 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

Matching grants are a one-third (City) to two-third (business) match. Grants are awarded in three areas:


Grant Application for Dry Cleaners Grant Applications - Grants up to $30,000 to help fund dry cleaners to switch to an alternative to perchloroethylene (perc) in the dry cleaning process.

Vehicle repair, service and maintenance Grant Application - Grants up to $20, 000 to help fund vehicle repair, service, and maintenance businesses move to painting, cleaning alternatives, and repair processes that reduce emissions, hazardous waste, or energy usage.

Innovative Grant Application - Grants up to $45, 000 to help fund innovative green business practices that focus on air quality improvement by reducing VOC emissions, particular matter emissions, or other significant Hazardous Air Pollutants. Any business which pays an annual Pollution Control Annual Bill (PCAB) in Minneapolis is eligible to apply.
