Permit

Seasonal Food Permit allows the sale/give away of food at a three (3) or more civic events. Valid from April 1 to March 31 of the following year. (A Short-term permit may be used if you will attend less than three (3) events in a year.)

Requirements

Short-term food permit holders must

1. Be listed on the sponsor’s umbrella permit application submitted for each civic event.

2. Submit the completed application and fee to the Event Sponsor at least two weeks prior to the first event you are attending or the Division of Environmental Health and Food Safety, when applicable.
Note:
Completed application form and fee must be received at least two weeks prior to the first event. Fees and applications received less than two weeks prior to the first event may result in delay or denial of permit, or assessment of a late fee.

3. Inform the Division of Environmental Health and Food Safety of any additional events you plan to attend that are not listed on the application submitted. Notification should be at least two weeks prior to the start of the civic event.

4. Agree to operate the food vending stand in compliance with the Minneapolis Food Code. Application signature will establish responsibility. See “Guidelines for Dispensing Foods Under a Short-Term/Seasonal Food Permit” (or download the PDF).

Notes

  • No home-prepared foods are allowed.
