Minneapolis Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)CERT_FAQ-1

Minneapolis police and firefighters are prepared for everyday emergencies and are normally the first to respond to emergencies. CERT is a realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens may initially be on their own and their actions can make a difference. People naturally respond to others in need, without training they can endanger themselves and worsen the situation. Trained CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an emergency event or disaster when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
