Construction Permits

Installation of certain equipment requires a fire department construction permit and others require an operational permit.

Work that Requires a Construction Permit

The installation or modification of any of the equipment listed below requires a permit application and fee be submitted to the fire department before the equipment is installed.

Type of Equipment Installed or Removed	Permit Code
Flammable Liquids, Tank Installation: A permit is required to install underground or aboveground tanks and piping which will contain either flammable or combustible liquids.	F 3
Flammable Liquids, Tank Removal: A permit is required for the removal of underground or aboveground tanks and piping that contained flammable or combustible liquids.	F 4
Liquefied Petroleum, Underground Installation: A permit is required to install a buried or earth mounded L P (propane) tank and piping.	L 3
