Minneapolis Solid Waste and Recycling Division
Innovative Graffiti Prevention Micro Grants
To assist Minneapolis communities with graffiti eradication and prevention efforts, the City of Minneapolis, Division of Solid Waste and Recycling has announced the availability of "micro grants" for innovative graffiti prevention projects. Currently, a total of $150,000 is available. The intent of this program is to assist communities and community-based organizations with innovative projects designed to remove and prevent gang related graffiti or offer anti-graffiti education programs in their community.
These grants are to be used as reimbursed "seed money" for manageable projects that will lead to larger, more ambitious projects in the future. This program is intended to aid the City of Minneapolis in reaching its five-year goal of ‘A Safe Place to Call Home: Guns, Gangs, Graffiti Gone’.
The application deadline for the 2012 grant proposals was May 11, 2012.
