Graffiti Complaint/Reporting
Important: Before using this online form, if the act of graffiti vandalism is in progress, call 911.
Reporting graffiti online:
- You must provide an email address. When you submit the form, you will receive an email confirming your report. The email will have the case number and expected completion date for your request.
- You must answer all questions marked with an asterisk (*). Filling out the form accurately and completely will enable us to follow up on your report more quickly.
- Attach photos of the graffiti, when possible. Digital photos will help us process your report more efficiently.
Reporting graffiti by calling 311:
- Be prepared to provide an address or intersection of where the graffiti is located. Providing an accurate location will enable us to follow up on your report more quickly.
- Let us know what type of object has been vandalized. Providing this information will help us process your report more efficiently.
- If you are reporting a vandalized vehicle, please provide the license plate number including the state of registration.
Reporting graffiti using the 3-1-1 "smart" device app:
- Remember to turn on your location services. The 311 app uses your built-in GPS service to determine the closest possible location for the graffiti.
- If you report graffiti after leaving the scene, use the interactive map to pin the correct spot, or add the correct address to the description field.
- You must provide a photograph of the graffiti. Digital photos help us identify what has been vandalized so that we can process your report more quickly.
Reporting graffiti by emailing 311:
- Make sure to include the address or intersection where the graffiti is located. Providing an accurate location will enable us to follow up on your report more quickly.
- Let us know what type of object has been vandalized. Providing this information will help us process your report more efficiently.
- Please consider including digital photos with your email. Images will help us process your report as quickly as possible.
Service Level Goal:
This request typically takes up to 20 days to resolve. Reports of graffiti on Public Property may be completed sooner. All graffiti abatement is weather dependent.
Resolution:
Minneapolis Solid Waste and Recycling will document the graffiti, photograph the damage, and notify the Minneapolis Police Department. When the graffiti has been removed, or the responsible party notified, the case is closed.
