Preservation Photo Contest to Celebrate National Historic Preservation Month
May was National Historic Preservation Month! The City of Minneapolis department of Community Planning and Economic Development Department (CPED) invited the public to participate in a photo contest to celebrate the historic resources that contribute to making our city a special place. Minneapolis has over 170 locally designated landmarks and 17 historic districts. Many fantastic photos were posted on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook with the #MPLSpreservation hashtag. Although we planned to choose the top three, the voting resulted in a number of photos receiving the same number of votes! Congratulations to these photographers on capturing the winning photos!
NOTE: Photos should not contain identifiable people. Submissions may be used by the City of Minneapolis in future print and digital publications, with proper credit to the photographer.
