Tilsenbilt Homes Potential Historic District
Following community outreach conducted in 2015 about how to recognize and honor the history of the Tilsenbilt Homes, one of the first FHA-backed integrated housing developments in the nation, many of the homes were nominated as a historic district. CPED has completed a draft designation study and design guidelines for the potential historic district. This draft is now available for public review and comment.
A public meeting has been scheduled to discuss the draft designation study and design guidelines. Please consider attending.
Monday, July 18, 2016, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
St. Peter’s AME Church
401 East 41st Street
The public is invited to submit comments on the draft study and design guidelines through August 23. Please call or email Andrew Frenz, 612-673-3790 with comments or to request a paper copy of the draft study and design guidelines via US Mail.
CPED has also prepared a FAQ document which addresses some of the most common inquiries regarding the draft design guidelines.
