CondemnationYour building is condemned. You must move by the date shown on the placard. Learn more about condemned buildings.
Do Not OccupyThis building is hazardous. You must move by the date shown on the placard.
Notice of IntentThis building may be condemned if needed improvements have not been made by the due date. You may or may not need to move, depending on whether repairs are made by the due date.
Unlawful OccupancyThe reason for this placard is written on the placard, about halfway down. You may or may not need to move, depending on the particular case. Common reasons for this placard are
No Rental LicenseYour landlord does not have the needed license to run a rental property. You may or may not need to move, depending on whether the landlord gets the license. Another notice will be posted if you need to move.
Rental License Revoked, Denied, Non-renewal, or Suspension (pink)Because of police/SAFE issues, your landlord may not get a rental license or the rental license may be cancelled. You may or may not need to move, depending on whether the landlord resolves this problem. Another notice will be posted if you need to move.
Rental License Revoked, Denied, Non-renewal, or Suspension (red)Due to code or licensing violations, your landlord may not get a rental license or the rental license may be cancelled. You may or may not need to move, depending on whether the landlord resolves this problem. Another notice will be posted if you need to move.
Rental License IssuedPrevious problems with the rental license for your building have been resolved. You do not need to move.
Final Decision: No LicenseThe landlord did not resolve licensing issues for your building in the required time. You must move by the date shown on the placard. You may call Minneapolis Housing Services at (612) 673-3003 for assistance with housing and moving problems. (This number is also on the placard.) You may call the Housing Inspector listed on the placard if you have questions about rental licensing.
