Conditions on License
The Minneapolis City Council will consider amending Chapter 259 and Chapter 362 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances related to placing reasonable restrictions on a business when a documented violation exists to protect and promote public peace, good order, livablity and security. An informational meeting is scheduled on January 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall, in Pohlad Hall and a public hearing is scheduled on February 11, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in City Hall. Proposed procedures will also be considered by the City Council. (Procedures updated February 6, 2013)
Business License Fees - No increase in 2013
License fees will not increase in 2013. The Minneapolis City Council approved to keep the same rates as 2012. Fees are charged for every new license and annually for each existing business license in Minneapolis. Pollution Control Annual Billing Fees (PCAB) will increase 3%.
Business License Information Program (BLIP)
Brochures and videos for business owners, license applicants, and customers are available in our electronic library. Topics include hailing a taxi, hiring a contractor, hosting a catered event, and more. Information is also available in Español, Hmoob, and Soomaaliga. No library card required.
