Mayor Hodges Congratulates Fire Cadets on Graduation
May 14, 2015 (MINNEAPOLIS) Today, Mayor Betsy Hodges attended the graduation of 19 new firefighters in the Minneapolis Fire Department. 16 of the 19 new cadets are veterans.
“I am proud to welcome today’s graduating cadets to the city,” said Mayor Hodges. “They have all worked hard and accomplished much to get to this point. As they finish up months of training, I also recognize the dedication and support of their families and the trainers and instructors who have guided them along the way.
Today, these newest firefighters are committing to public service in a complex and dangerous profession. These are tremendously brave men and women, many of whom as veterans have already sacrificed so much to protect our country. On behalf of the residents of Minneapolis, I offer my gratitude and wish them well on their careers with the City of Minneapolis.”
