Mayor Hodges Statement on Afternoon Shooting of Mother and Child

June 18, 2015 (MINNEAPOLIS) Mayor Betsy Hodges made the following statement after a mother and child were shot this afternoon in South Minneapolis.

"It’s unthinkable that a mother and her 15 month old would be shot in Minneapolis while simply walking down the street,” said Mayor Betsy Hodges. “I am outraged that this took place in our city and in our community. We as a community must continue to vehemently reject this kind of violence and channel our outrage into preventing the factors that lead us down this path. Right now the police department is doing everything possible to apprehend the shooter.”
