Sign-Up for Online Permits
Licensed contractors can sign up to use the online permit issuance system to obtain permits for residential home improvements. Available permit types are, simple Building Permits that do not require a plan review, most plumbing permits and permits to place a dumpster or storage unit on the street.
If you are a contractor who holds a business license as a State of Minnesota Residential Building Contractor, a City of Minneapolis Plumbing Contractor, Class A or B Wrecking Contractor (street use permit only) or a Storage Container company registered with Minneapolis Development Review you may sign up online or by calling Minneapolis 311 (612-673-3000).
