Chair Clegg had nothing to report.       

Discussion

5.    Task force on recognition of neighborhood organizations

Receiving an update on the task force meeting held Wed., April 12, and confirming the next meeting scheduled for Wed., May 10, 4:30 p.m. in room #315, City Hall.

Action Taken: No Action Taken.

6.    Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET) Composition Report

Discussion on the League of Women Voters of Minneapolis report examining the composition of the BET, including recommendations and next steps.

        Action Taken: Continued to the June 7, 2017, Charter Commission meeting.

7.    Proposal to amend Charter moving municipal elections to even-numbered years

Discussion of proposal to amend the Charter by moving municipal elections to even-numbered years.

 Action Taken: A committee was established for the purpose of exploring any legal or technical impediments to a Charter amendment moving municipal elections to even-numbered years.

Greg Abbot, 4840 Drew Ave S, spoke in favor of exploration of the Charter amendment; and Jeanne Massey, 3606 Harriet Ave, offered herself as a resource in any research efforts.
