Consent

Health Department

1.  Grant from Minnesota Department of Human Services for tobacco compliance (16-00501)

1.    Accepting a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services in the amount of $2,400 to conduct educational tobacco compliance checks with retailers.

2.    Authorizing an agreement with the State of Minnesota, Department of Human Services for the grant.

3.    Passage of Resolution appropriating the funds to the Health Department.  (Refer to WM)

Action Taken:  Approved.

2.   Grant from Minnesota Department of Health for lead poisoning intervention (16-00502)

1.    Accepting a grant from the Minnesota Department of Health in the amount of $13,300 to provide lead reduction services.

2.    Authorizing an agreement with the State of Minnesota for the grant.

3.    Passage of Resolution appropriating the funds to the Health Department.  (Refer to WM)

Action Taken:  Approved.

3.  Contracts for parent support and education services (16-00503)

Authorizing contracts with Pillsbury United Communities and Goodwill Industries, Inc., doing business as Goodwill Easter Seals Minnesota, to provide support and education services for parents of youth at risk for violence, in the amount $37,500 for each contract.  (Refer to WM)

Action Taken:  Approved.

4.  Public Health Advisory Committee appointment (16-00504)

Approving the City Council appointment of Joseph Desenclos, Seat 19, Member-At-Large, for a two-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2016, and ending Dec. 31, 2017.

Action Taken:  Approved.

5.  After-hours work permits ordinance (16-00074)

Setting a public hearing for May 2, 2016, to consider the subject matter of ordinance amending Title 3, Chapter 59 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Air Pollution and Environmental Protection: Construction Activities, amending provisions related to after-hours work permits.

Action Taken:  Approved.

6.  Participatory youth-led research project on young male sexual health (16-00506)

Receiving and filing presentation reviewing the findings and recommendations from the 2015 Young Male Sexual Health Assessment conducted by Minneapolis Health Department and Youthprise.

Action Taken:  Received and filed.

City Coordinator’s Office

7.  Minneapolis greenhouse gas emissions reduction goal:  Results of City performance tool modeling (16-00498)

Receiving and filing presentation regarding results of City Performance Tool modeling of City-adopted greenhouse gas emissions reduction goal of 80% by 2050.

Action Taken:  Received and filed.

8.  Minnesota Department of Health Evaluation (16-00505)

Receiving and filing presentation regarding the Minnesota Department of Health’s evaluation of the City’s Food, Lodging, and Pools delegated programs.

Action Taken:  Received and filed.
