City Planning Commission July 18, 2016

1.    Street vacation: Metro Transit, part of 7th Ave N, southwest of N 5th St (16-01118)

1.       Approving an application by Metro Transit to vacate part of 7th Ave N, southwest of N 5th St, subject to the retention of easements for the City of Minneapolis, Xcel Energy, and CenturyLink.

2.       Passage of Resolution approving Vac-1659.

Action Taken:  Approved.

2.    Rezoning: MLJ Enterprises, LLC, 3333 41st St E (16-01119)

        1.       Approving an application submitted by MLJ Enterprises, LLC to rezone (BZZ-7759) the property located at 3333 41st St E from the R5 District to the I1 District, adding the IL Industrial Living Overlay District,  to allow for industrial and residential uses.

        2.       Passage of Ordinance amending Title 20, Chapter 521 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Zoning Code: Zoning Districts and Maps Generally.

        Action Taken:  Approved.

3.    Zoning definition of half stories ordinance (16-00792)

Passage of Ordinance amending Title 20, Chapter 520 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Zoning Code: Introductory Provisions, amending the definition of “half story.”

Action Taken:  Approved.

4.    Regulation of intentional communities ordinance (16-01068)

Referring to staff the following ordinances amending the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances, providing for regulation of intentional communities:

1.    Title 20 relating to Zoning Code: Chapter 520 Introductory Provisions; Chapter 536 Specific Development Standards; Chapter 541 Off-Street Parking and Loading; Chapter 546 Residence Districts; Chapter 547 Office Residence Districts; Chapter 548 Commercial Districts; Chapter 549 Downtown Districts; and Chapter 551 Overlay Districts.

2.    Title 12, Chapter 244 relating to Housing: Maintenance Code.

Action Taken:  Referred to staff.
