All are welcome to make their voices heard; participate in interactive sessions, robust learning and exhibits; and enjoy a delicious cultural lunch.

Online registration is now closed. You may register at the event location on April 1st.

The Conference is FREE to all participants.

The conference will use innovative ideas to build on successful collaborations among residents, neighborhoods, cultural communities and the City to build diversity and capacity in neighborhood organizations and community organizations.

The conference features three tracks: your city, your neighborhood and your voice.

Your city

The Community Connections Conference will feature an opportunity to participate in Minneapolis 2040, the City’s Comprehensive Plan update. Minneapolis 2040 will be the City’s 20-year vision to direct the physical development of the city into the future. Find out what’s happened so far in the process and discuss with City staff and your neighbors how to grow the city in health, equity and opportunity. Learn more at

Your neighborhood

The current neighborhood structure of the Community Participation Program is set to end in 2020. Neighborhood organization staff, board members and residents can take this opportunity to help plan for the future of neighborhood organizations and their roles in communities beyond 2020.

Your voice

Community engagement plays a crucial role in shaping City policy. This track will focus on ways residents can connect with City leaders, find out how to serve on City boards and commissions, and engage Minneapolis’ diverse communities.

Minneapolis 2040
