Labor force

In 1980 and 1990 Beltrami's labor force participation rate was slightly higher than the city's. In 2000 it was down to 70 percent, 2 percent below the citywide percentage. While the citywide population 16 years and older working, looking for a job or in the armed forces increased constantly, in the neighborhood it dropped from 1990 to 2000.

In 1980 and 2000, Beltrami had a lower unemployment rate than Minneapolis. In 1990 however, unemployment in the neighborhood climbed above the citywide rate. In 2000, Beltrami's unemployment rate dropped to 3 percent, compared to Minneapolis' at 5.8 percent.
