Poverty

The percentages of people living in poverty in Lynnhurst are well below the citywide percentages. Neighborhood percentages were the highest in 1989, when 3 percent of all people lived in poverty. In 1999, 1 percent did. In 1989, the number of people over the age of 65 who earned incomes below the poverty level jumped to 10 percent. In 1999, however, there were no people over the age of 65 living below the poverty level.

Poverty levels in Lynnhurst are very low. At their peak in 1989, 2 percent of families earned incomes below the poverty level. In 1979 and 1999, all families living below the poverty level had children.
