Register your bike with the Minneapolis Police Department

Every year, thousands of bikes are lost or stolen in Minneapolis and many of them are actually recovered. However, because of a lack of proper identification, only a small percentage are ever returned to their owners.

To help increase the chances that your stolen bike will be returned, you can now register your bicycle with the Minneapolis Police Department. You can register online, call 311, or use 311's phone app.

To register your bike, you will need to include your bike’s serial number, a description of the bike--make and model--and your contact information.

Visit the Police Department’s website for more information about bicycle theft prevention.
