Videos on Urban Scholars, Operation Raging River earn accolades

The Minnesota Association of Government Communicators honored two City videos with its 2015 Northern Lights Awards. The Operation Raging River video won an Award of Excellence for documenting an emergency preparedness drill that simulated what would happen if a dirty bomb exploded on the shores of the Mississippi River. The Urban Scholars video won an Award of Merit in the category of informational video. The Urban Scholars video helps create the leaders of tomorrow by reaching out to students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds and getting them involved in the leadership development summer internship program.

The Northern Lights Awards recognize outstanding work in government, educational and nonprofit communications. The Minnesota Association of Government Communicators is a peer organization of communications professionals. Members represent all levels of government including federal, state, regional, county, and local governments as well as school districts, universities and colleges, nonprofits, and agencies serving these organizations.
