Paying tribute to the ultimate sacrifice

The Minneapolis Police Department and Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office honors officers who lost their lives in the line of duty at its Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony. The annual ceremony takes place during Police Week.

Since 1884, 68 officers have died protecting and serving the residents of the city. During the ceremony, a bell is tolled as the name of each fallen officer is announced. See the list of fallen officers.
