Next up for new photo IDs: Public Service Center, City of Lakes, Flour Exchange employees
City employees who work in the Public Service Center, City of Lakes and Flour Exchange buildings are next to receive updated photo IDs. Property Services will work with the department liaisons within these buildings to schedule and communicate a specific time for employees to get their photos taken June 17-19.
What to expect
Your liaison will schedule you and your coworkers in groups of four-six to get your photos taken. The camera and badging equipment will be set up in Room B-14 in the Public Service Center. Bring your current photo ID with you to get a new photo ID.
Once the new IDs have been issued, Property Services will work with department liaisons to verify each employee’s access level.
Property Services will set up separate days in the upcoming weeks to issue new IDs for all other employees at Crown Roller Mill, Fridley Water Campus, Currie and Hiawatha as well as Fire and Police staff.
More secure, more convenient
Property Services is updating photo IDs to provide more security for employees and their customers. They also hope to provide more convenient access to City buildings. The changes will also reduce costs by limiting access cards to those employees who need them, decreasing the number of cards that are produced, issued, tracked and replaced.
Access to federal parking ramp
Once the photo ID update is complete, the federal ramp will be updated to require keycard access with the new photo IDs. Look for more information on that this summer.
