See the history of the Minneapolis Aquatennial on display at City Hall July 13-31. The Aquatennial history exhibit includes historic photographs and a selection of Aquatennial queens’ portraits, crowns and jewelry boxes.
Aquatennial history event July 20
A free celebration of the Aquatennial’s history will take place noon, Monday, July 20, in the City Hall Rotunda. The Aquatennial commodore and queen of the lakes will greet visitors and special Aquatennial exhibits on display will include historic coronation gowns. The event will feature speakers from the City, County, Minneapolis Downtown Council and the Aquatennial Ambassador Organization. Pam Albinson, 1962 queen of the lakes and author of “Seventy-five Years of the Minneapolis Aquatennial” will introduce a screening of a newly restored film highlighting the history of the Aquatennial. Food trucks will sell lunch in front of the City Hall and Courthouse building.
The Aquatennial history exhibit and event is a partnership among the City, Hennepin County, the Hennepin History Museum, Minneapolis Downtown Council and the Municipal Building Commission. For more information, call the City Clerk’s Office at 612-673-2216.

5:30 p.m.: Aquatennial CorePower Yoga presented by Go Outside with Hennepin County, Target Field Station.
