Watch out for the “iOS Crash Report” scam
A new scam targets owners of iPhones and iPads.
The scam starts as a fake error message labeled “iOS Crash Report” that says the device has crashed because of a configuration problem. The message urges people to call “Apple Technical Support” at a fraudulent toll-free number, where they’ll be asked to pay a support fee of $80 using a credit card to fix the device.
Remember: Microsoft and Apple won’t contact you, either by phone or email, if there’s an issue with your device. And never give your iCloud username and password or your bank details over the phone.
