City Clerk’s Office shares historic images, archives online

Historic images and archives from the City – some dating back to the 1800s – are now available for online viewing.

The City Clerk’s Office, with the assistance of the Urban Scholars summer internship program, digitized many historic images and materials from the Minneapolis Archives collections and posted them for public viewing on a new Minneapolis Archives Flickr page available at www.flickr.com/mplsarchives. The page has a variety of images, video, documents and reports that highlight the history of Minneapolis and city government. The page will be updated regularly with new images and archives as the Clerk’s Office continues to access and digitize its archival holdings.

Visitors to the page are encouraged to comment and add any historical knowledge they may have related to the images to better identify the materials posted and provide any historical context.
