Civil Rights employee earns specialty certification
Ryan Patrick, operations coordinator in the Department of Civil Rights’ Office of Police Conduct Review, recently earned a specialty internal auditing certification that demonstrates his specialized level of expertise. To reach this level of achievement, Ryan needed a relevant degree, years of experience and a passing score on a four-part test covering auditing frameworks, methodologies, analysis skills and government functions.
The Certified Government Auditing Professional designation emphasizes internal auditing’s role in strengthening accountability to the public and improving government services. The program tests a candidate’s knowledge of public-sector internal auditing features such as accounting, grants, legislative oversight, confidentiality rights and more.
