Q. How would you describe your leadership style?
A. Participative: I believe innovation of thought and problem solving occur when you bring various people and stakeholders to the table. To this end, I still hold myself accountable for moving the organization forward.

Q. What’s your priority in your first days as deputy chief of investigations?
A. To do my best to hit the ground running with the great team that has been assembled.

Q. What do you like best about working for the City?
A. It is absolutely the people. I have had the honor over the years of working with the men and women of the Minneapolis Police Department, other City personnel, citizens and other partners that continue to show a deep passion and resolve for making Minneapolis great.

Q. What’s your favorite place for lunch in Minneapolis?
A. Punch Pizza on Hennepin.

Q. What music are you listening to lately?
A. I’m afraid of showing my age, but ’70s rock 'n' roll and country.

A. You can choose to be happy!

A. Tombstone.

Q. What’s something surprising that people don’t know about you?
A. I try to be an open book, so what you see is what you get.
