Opportunity fair to help minority- and women-owned businesses sell products and services to the City

Please help spread the word in your professional and personal networks: The Community Planning and Economic Development Department will host an opportunity fair Oct. 29 for minority- and women-owned businesses. The City wants to increase its vendor base in categories such as office supplies; professional and clerical services; IT hardware, software and consulting; catering services; and large- and small-scale construction services. Minority- and women-owned businesses can learn about the City’s procurement process and sign up as potential vendors.

3-6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29
Profile Event Center, 2630 University Ave. SE
3:30 p.m., presentations by City department leaders begin

The event is free. Register at www.minneapolisbusinessfair.com.

Once the City’s vendor lists are updated, City employees will have more choices to support minority- and women-owned businesses in City purchasing decisions. Watch Minneapolis Matters and CityTalk for updates.
