IT Service Desk, Deskside Support move in-house Nov. 30

Beginning Nov. 30, you’ll have a home team to help with technology issues at the City. The IT Service Desk and Deskside Support will move in-house with a mission to quickly and easily resolve your technology issues so you can get back to work.

The change will give you more ways to reach the service desk. You can call the new number, 612-673-2525, or send an email to [email protected]. On the go-live date, you can also go to citytalk/ITServiceDesk to chat with a service desk agent or submit Web forms to report problems or get services.

You can use the IT Service Desk site to:

City employees invested in helping you

Along with more and easier options to reach the service desk, the people who will be helping you are City employees. They’ll be here every day invested in getting to know you, how you work and what your department needs. They’ll learn about your business processes and challenges so their solutions better fit your needs.

In the coming months, you can expect to see faster delivery times and more options and flexibility for choosing computer and software products too. By bringing these services back in-house, IT will have more freedom to tailor services to your needs and keep adapting them as needed.

Watch CityTalk and Minneapolis Matters for short training videos about the transition.

Unisys contract ends

Beginning Nov. 30, you can call the service desk at 673-2525. The phone number used to reach the Unisys service desk will direct you to the new internal IT Service Desk phone number starting that day. The [email protected] email address will stay the same and will automatically roll over to the City service desk Nov. 30.

Unisys personnel will be on hand until the contract ends at the end of the year to help make this a smooth transition.
