Get to know Trish Glover
Q. How would you describe your leadership style?
A. My leadership style is to mobilize my team toward a vision and work together with employees to figure out the best way to accomplish our goals. I seek input from staff at all levels for decisions that are going to affect them. Employees need to feel valued, and they need to know they can have a voice. It doesn’t mean that every suggestion will be instituted, but they will certainly be heard.
Q. What interested you the most about moving here from out of state and working for the City?
A. I love the fact that Minneapolis is a progressive city. It is so important to me to work for an organization that looks to the future and leaves the past behind. I am excited and feel very blessed to be the one chosen for this position. Of course, the fact that my children and grandchildren live here certainly helped with the decision.
Q. What’s the best place you’ve visited in Minneapolis so far?
A. I have not had time to get out as of yet, but the Asian food in the skyway is pretty awesome.
Q. What music are you listening to lately?
A. Rod Stewart’s Greatest Hits is in my CD player in my car. I mostly listen to country, but my tastes vary.
Q. Do you have any favorite quotes?
A. Don’t complain about the things you have the ability to change.
Q. What’s your favorite movie?
A. My all-time favorite would be the original “Grease.”
