Attend a play on race, equity specifically for City employees
The Office of Equity and Inclusion invites you to attend “Breaking Ice,” a play customized for City employees and the race and equity issues we face. This one-of-a-kind performance uses the arts to foster a better understanding of ourselves and other people and of cultural traditions and lifestyles.
Imagine what happens when the discussions and dialogues you hear whispered at your workplace are illuminated onstage in a safe theater setting. It’s a powerful, dramatic and entertaining way to step back and get a fresh perspective while gaining a more intimate understanding of how individuals relate to each other. Following the performance, facilitators will lead participants in discussions designed to foster better understanding and communication.
The play, a production of the Pillsbury House Theatre, takes place from 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, at Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall.
The “Breaking Ice” event kicks off a year of engagement opportunities for City employees on race and equity.
