STAR search: Submit your nomination for a STAR Award by March 18
Show your thanks and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of your fellow City employees by nominating them for one of the STAR Awards by the March 18 deadline.
With the new online forms, it’s easier than ever to nominate a City employee for one of the STAR Awards:
- City STAR: for employees who made a significant impact on the City the previous year.
- Co-STAR: for outstanding teams.
- North STAR: for outstanding leaders.
- Shining STAR: for employees who project a positive influence in the workplace.
Once you complete a nomination form and click “Submit,” the form will automatically be routed to the STAR Awards Committee for consideration. If approved, the nomination will be submitted to the appropriate department head for review and feedback.
March 18 is also the deadline for approved nominees to be considered for the 2015-16 Super STAR Awards that will be announced in May.
The STAR Awards employee recognition program recognizes excellence and extraordinary effort demonstrated by City employees. “STAR” stands for Special Thanks And Recognition. The program was created in response to employee surveys showing that employees want formal recognition.
Winners of STAR Awards receive special certificates and recognition coins from their departments. They are also eligible for an annual Super STAR award, which includes a crystal trophy and recognition at a Citywide event.
