Noah Schuchman named director of Regulatory Services

Noah Schuchman is the new director of Regulatory Services. He has served as interim director of the department since September.

As director, Schuchman will oversee 170 employees in Administration and Community Engagement, Minneapolis Animal Care and Control, Fire Inspection Services, Housing Inspection Services, Operations, and Traffic Control. He’ll manage the department’s $19 million budget.

Schuchman brings more than a decade of experience in government and nonprofit management to his role as director. He’s worked in the Regulatory Services Department for nearly eight years, most recently as deputy director of operations where he oversaw administrative hearings and reporting to City Council committees, acted as the department’s liaison to the City Council and mayor, led special projects, and oversaw data analysis and business planning.

Before joining Regulatory Services, Schuchman served as a senior policy aide for City Council Member Gary Schiff and worked in government, public relations and the nonprofit world.

Schuchman holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from Hamline University and a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University. He serves on the PTA board at his children’s school, Armatage Montessori School.
