Be alert: Phishing scam for W-2s continues
In the past few weeks, organizations have reported a lot of phishing attempts to get employee W-2s. This type of attack has occurred at large organizations including SeaGate and MoneyTree, and employees have seen these phishing attacks here at the City. To conduct these attacks, phishers create emails that appear to come from internal executives, requesting W-2s for all employees.
Help us protect the City. If you handle W-2 information, you could be a target. If you receive a suspicious email or one that requests W-2 information for employees, please contact the IT Service Desk immediately at 612-673-2525. The service desk agents will work with IT Security to verify the legitimacy of the sender.
